We are delighted to tell you that after years of planning we opened our new 'canine wellbeing and hydrotherapy centre' in July 2017. This is located in our 'old surgery' just across the road from our main hospital.
Hydrotherapy suits many patients, either for agility dogs wishing to maintain and improve fitness, or for dogs recovering from certain traumas and types of lameness, and arthritis.
Hydrotherapy is a help in many cases, but is not a cure for every condition. It can be remarkably helpful in some spinal cases for example, but cannot result in a 'cure' for some of the most intractable spinal cases where for example multiple slipped discs are involved which are causing severe neurological difficulties.
This is already proving to be a popular service. Our hydrotherapist has completed her rigorous training, and we are registered with the Canine Hydrotherapy Association, having completed the requirements for the standards.
